New Features in Ability SmartSite 6.0 Ecommerce Software

March 24, 2009

As part of our dedication to constantly improving ecommerce functionality in Ability SmartSite, we’ve released a new version.  Here are some of the additional features now available:

  1. Display for customized messages for discontinued products on their websites.  Now you can give shoppers a “replacement item” or “closest match” instead of a discontinued item or page not found error. Rather than completely removing an item page, thereby losing traffic if it was well-ranked, you can keep the page, but direct shoppers to related items that are available.

  2. More customization for website navigation.  Home, category, subcategory, list, and detail pages can each use different combinations of navigation controls (top, left, right, etc) that are not tied to the navigation controls on other page types.  You can set up navigation based on the preferences of your shoppers.

  3. Give shoppers a simple and fast way to add multiple items to their carts from a single page with grid displays.  Now you can add pop-up style “tooltip” boxes to display long descriptions and/or images when shoppers mouse over item short descriptions, and customize the character limit.  You can simplify the display of information, while still giving shoppers what they need.

Ability Commerce Client is MCM Award Finalist

March 17, 2009

We’re so excited!  Mack’s Prairie Wings, long time Ability Commerce client, is a finalist for the 2009 MCM Awards in the Web-Sporting Goods category!

The MCM Awards are the industry’s top honors for B2B and B2C multichannel marketers. The MCM Awards recognize superior print catalogs and websites from around the globe.

The award winners will be announced during a special luncheon at the Annual Conference for Catalog and Multichannel Merchants (ACCM) in New Orleans on May 6th.  We have a booth at the conference, and will be there to see the awards live and in person – it’ll be a nail-biter for sure!

Other finalists in this category are www.llbean.com and www.orvis.com

2008 was a banner year for Mack’s, despite the economic challenges retailers faced.  The success of their online channel surpassed all expectations and we couldn’t be happier for them.  If this nomination is any indicator, 2009 will be quite a year!

Good luck Mack’s!  We’re rooting for you!
